The CRLB Relief Fund

Camp Robert L. Boucher is Washington Wing, Civil Air Patrol's crown jewel destination for member training. For decades it has been a platform for sparking youth interest in aviation and STEM careers, and for enabling our volunteers to serve their community, state, and nation. Camp Boucher has given our members countless opportunities, but also depends on hosting frequent activities to cover its operating costs and upkeep.  We also are asking for funds to prepare the facility for operation in the COVID-19 environment.  With the camp unable to host events right now, we're asking for your help to keep this irreplaceable treasure in CAP's hands, so that it will be able to serve us all in the future.

Here's what Camp Boucher does for us:

  • Hosts Washington's Desert Eagle Flight Academy, which provides youth of all backgrounds with volunteer-provided initial flight instruction in a low-cost environment, opening doors for fulfilling aviation careers, and helping meet the coming challenge of pilot shortages in the United States.
  • Hosts Washington All Missions Academy, which provides our youth with indispensable lessons in service and personal character, exposes them to STEM and aviation learning and career exploration, and trains our volunteers how best to serve in their home communities.
  • Hosts Washington's Glider Orientation Flights, which give our youth the chance to literally soar, and experience flight for the first time, for free! The aim is to spark interest in aviation and engineering among all youth.
  • Is home of the Columbia Basin Composite Squadron, which uses Camp Boucher to carry out all three of Civil Air Patrol's missions: Aerospace Education, Cadet Programs, and Emergency Services, in Ephrata, WA.

Our fundraising goal is $12,000.00.  An evaluation of this campaign will be made on 30 November 2020.
